Guy has worked as a Building Surveyor since 1996, spending the first 14 years of his career in Ireland and the UK before moving to New Zealand, where he has worked since 2010. His technical expertise, attention to detail and can-do attitude are complemented by his perseverance, ensuring his projects are completed in a timely manner and to the client’s expectations.
During his career, Guy has been involved in a number of major Auckland CBD property transactions, including the $600m sale and purchase of a portfolio of Viaduct properties, and a multi-billion dollar transaction for retirement villages.
He has in-depth knowledge of technical due diligence, having prepared reports on private hospitals and medical facilities, shopping centres and other industrial and commercial buildings, along with vendor’s technical due diligence for an office park consisting of 13 office blocks with multi-storey carparks.
Guy was also involved in completing numerous asbestos inspections and the preparation of asbestos registers on two large commercial property portfolios.
As part of a wider team of management consultants and building surveyors, Guy assisted with the inspection of a residential property portfolio comprising 1,200 properties, to assess the buildings for compliance with the Healthy Homes Guarantee Act and graded them against a set of criteria by assigning a NAMS rating. Guy managed the onsite inspection teams, as well as physically completing inspections, to ensure all were completed within time and budget.
