ISA, DSA or NBS?
It’s confusing if you’re not in the industry. We start with an initial seismic assessment (ISA) that provides qualitative insight into whether your building is earthquake-prone. If it is, we advance to a detailed seismic assessment (DSA) based on drawings, council records, measurements taken during site investigations and concrete scanning. Today’s minimum requirement is a new building standard (NBS) of 34%. A building with a high NBS is a highly marketable investment, but it’s also important to understand a low NBS when you’re planning future improvements.
