As CEO, Fiona manages the infrastructure of the business, freeing up our senior technical experts to do what they do best.
In April 2017, Prendos’ Directors recognised the need to bring on someone to focus on the business and ensure all systems and processes are running effectively, as well as supporting staff in their roles to deliver and bringing cohesion to the Board. Fiona is the main point of contact for staff and manages a range of business functions including IT, finance, marketing, business development, HR and business improvement. She also enjoys working directly with clients at times to solve issues.
A chartered member of the Institute of Directors, Fiona comes from a background managing non-profits for several years, and relished the opportunity to join a commercially focused, leading-edge organisation. She was attracted to the prospect of putting her own stamp on the newly created CEO role and working with a friendly and inclusive team. After several years in the role, she says it’s gratifying to look back and see how far the company has come, and how much more mature its systems are, enabling Prendos to better support its clients.
As former CEO of Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers, Fiona has seen the construction sector go through difficult times during the GFC and is excited about the current upturn in the market and the increasing demand for construction. She understands the industry and its challenges such as the availability of qualified and well trained staff, the ongoing issues around defective buildings, the risks of both competition and cost escalation, and the increasing significance of sustainability and ESG issues. She recognises the importance of maintaining quality without compromising the bottom line and is eager to build on the excellent reputation and strength Prendos has in the marketplace.
Fiona has worked closely with staff and Directors throughout her tenure to facilitate significant changes within the business, taking Prendos to new heights of professionalism, performance and corporate responsibility. She has built strong working relationships with staff and works with everyone in the company to bring about continuous improvement, while allowing the Directors to concentrate on their specialist areas rather than the day-to-day running of the business.
