As a member to our Structural Engineering team, Ang is responsible for seismic assessments of new and existing buildings including schools and residential to low-rise commercial buildings.
Ang was first attracted to this profession at the age of 10 years old when he saw a 900-year-old multi storey timber tower still standing after surviving earthquakes and wars. This drew his attention to the importance of having buildings with “good bones”.
Ang’s portfolio includes seismic restraint of secondary structures and simple structural designs. He has worked on over 400 projects all over New Zealand including buildings such as schools, hospitals, radiology, multi-storey buildings, airports and retirement villages.
He is focused on detail and is keen to learn and develop techniques in this traditional industry.
