A complete change of vocation marked Simon’s entry into the property sector – from policing to property valuation – and saw a career entry role with Prendos. Simon’s time with the New Zealand Police spanned 12 years, firstly as a constable and later as an acting sergeant and field training officer to new constables, and included a two-year sabbatical in the UK and Europe.

While still working with the New Zealand Police, Simon began studying part-time at Massey University, aiming for a qualification relevant to valuation and property management. After successfully achieving a Bachelor of Business Studies he made the occupational switch.

Since being with Prendos Simon has undertaken an extensive range of valuation assignments with a residential focus, including numerous specialist properties such as subdivisions, investment properties, leaky homes and townhouse projects.  Simon is experienced in valuing high value residential assets being a high value panel valuer with both Valocity and Corelogic.

In addition Simon undertakes a range of commercial valuations including rent review work.

Simon was registered in 2016 and is our valuations team manager, overseeing valuations for quality and content, as well as looking after the day-to-day administration of the valuations department. In 2020 he was promoted to Associate at Prendos, and in 2023 he became a Director of the company.
