Based in our Rotorua office, Mark is a Registered Building Surveyor with extensive experience administering NZS3910 contracts and managing remediation projects, big and small.
His eye for detail and innate understanding of design stems from considerable previous experience in the design industry, where he spent more than 20 years as a draughtsman. Mark worked for both a group-home company and a number of prominent architects, preparing design and construction documentation for residential sub-divisions, shopping centres, bulk retail and warehousing, commercial buildings, retirement villages, international marinas and the Sky City Casino and Sky Tower.
Following the Cave Creek disaster in 1994, Mark was heavily involved in the documentation of over 200 observation platforms and bridges across New Zealand’s National Parks, working closely with a team of structural engineers. For the past 11 years he has carried out initial inspections and destructive investigations of new-build and existing residential houses, apartments and educational facilities with potential weathertightness or structural problems, as well as condition surveys, long-term maintenance plans and technical due diligence surveys.
Thanks to his proficiency and experience in the design and construction industry, Mark is fully conversant in many varied forms of cladding materials/systems and construction techniques.
