Guy brings a great deal of technical knowledge, on-the-job experience and a deep understanding of construction technology to his role as Building Surveyor. His primary responsibilities include carrying out inspections, investigations, measuring and costing of residential, commercial, industrial and rural properties, disputes and related requirements. He also produces specifications for remedial and general building works, carries out the tendering process and provides contract administration services.
After gaining his degree in 2016, Guy worked as a Building Surveyor at a multi-disciplinary practice in central London for nearly three years. There, he headed an estate wide fire compartmentation survey and remedial works for Kingston University, where he was responsible for two survey teams and acted as the main client contact.
Guy’s sound technical and construction knowledge has been furthered through his work as a hotel maintenance officer, a craftsman helping to restore a listed Medieval house, and a labourer on construction sites. His specialist areas include fire safety, asbestos, roofing and decoration, and he has worked on numerous fire compartmentation and fire door compliance surveys for projects across the UK. As an avid user of AutoCAD (computer aided design) Guy is also comfortable producing, amending and interpreting drawings.
Guy’s amiable, practical and collaborative approach sees him build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues. His primary focus is to deliver a high quality service and provide practical solutions that work for all parties.
