Leaky buildings are not a thing of the past
It’s important to note that despite improvements in legislation and building certification, buildings are still being constructed today with weathertightness and other issues stemming from inappropriate design and material use as well as bad building practice. Even two decades on from the introduction of the Building Act 2004, we are still seeing new buildings with weathertight issues, many within the 10 year long stop period which allows for legal action to be pursued.
